Whether you’re all-in on color or prefer neutrals, there’s no denying that a new coat of paint is an impactful and affordable way to overhaul a room. In anticipation of the new year, we turned to Southern design pros for their 2025 paint color trends and insights. “I dislike all decorating trends and rules because any paint color done correctly can be beautiful,” says Cyndy Cantley of Birmingham, Alabama’s Cantley & Company. Even so, there are still some practices she and other designers say we should leave behind—and quickly! Here are five paint color trends Southern decorators are ready to ditch in 2025.
