9 Places You Aren’t Decorating—But Should Be
Even the most pragmatic features of your home can be improved upon.

Even if you’re not a self-proclaimed maximalist, there are plenty of reasons why you might want to maximize every square inch of your abode. Perhaps you live in a diminutive apartment or a small home. Maybe decorating unexpected spots brings you an inordinate amount of joy, knowing that you’re making the very most of your home. Either way, there are some areas that you might not be currently decorating—and we think you should be.
“Often, homes have hidden opportunities—those nooks and crannies we overlook when designing our spaces,” says Jessica Maros, interior designer and owner of Maros Designs. “Sometimes, we only realize these missed chances after our homes feel ‘finished.’ But adding thoughtful touches to these overlooked spots can elevate a space, making it more unique, stylized, and personal.”
Maros says that we can also view these decorative additions as conversation starters at gatherings or to “simply bring a smile to your face as you pass by daily.”
